It is with great sadness, that Bruno has been diagnosed Heartworm positive. I have not cried so hard in a long time. Bruno will be having more bloodwork done 08/01 to confirm the diagnosis, and then he will be scheduled for the treatment. His neuter and dental surgery has been postponed, until we see if he survives the heartworm treatment. Bruno came from Aurora, and was the only one of five dogs in the family to test positive. This wonderful charming little guy, will be going thru 2 months of treatment and special care.

This Colorado Sweetheart is a Colorado Dachshund Rescue friend. All of our dogs, are spay and neutered, up to date on vaccines and are heartworm negative and on preventative and microchipped. Most also have a dental done. We rehome close to 100 Dachshunds each year, and save many of them from certain death at local shelters. By working with local shelters, we are able to give them a second chance to find their new forever homes.
