Toby is a very handsome 2 year old, black and tan smooth boy. He lived in Kansas, and was turned over to a kill shelter in Kansas, because he was no longer wanted. Normally a very shy dog like Toby who is turned into a high kill shelter, by the owner is euthanised the first day. But a shelter worker stepped up and set about finding a safe place for Toby. So Toby began the journey to Colorado, he hitched a ride with Linda, of C.A.R.E. Toby received no medical care by his owner, but he is heartworm negative, vaccinated and neutered now. He is very shy, and but loves to be with other Dachshunds. He needs a kind hearted family to teach him that his new life will be filled with love and compassion.

This Colorado Sweetheart is a Colorado Dachshund Rescue friend. All of our dogs, are spay and neutered, up to date on vaccines and are heartworm negative and on preventative. We rehome close to 100 Dachshunds each year, and save many of them from certain death at local shelters. By working with local shelters, we are able to give them a second chance to find their new forever homes.
