This Colorado Sweetheart is a Colorado Dachshund Rescue friend. All of our dogs, are spay and neutered, up to date on vaccines and are heartworm negative and on preventative. We rehome close to 100 Dachshunds each year, and save many of them from certain death at local shelters. By working with local shelters, we are able to give them a second chance to find their new forever homes.

Andouille is a very sweet 13 weeks old boy. He was left in the night drop box at a local shelter. When the shelter workers found him the next morning, he was a mess. This little puppy, had chewed his tail off, and it was bloody, infected stub. He was turned over to rescue, and our vet, has determined that sweet Andouille was perhaps swung by his tail, causing neuro damage. When the nerves tried to regenerate, the tingling drove him to chew his tail off. He is currently on a regime of medication to get him past this, he is taking a humane drug to sooth those nerves so he can heal. He is also scheduled to start acupuncture to heal him as well. Due to his age, he is not neutered yet, but that will be scheduled before he is adopted. He is a blank slate, so his foster Mom is teaching him to wait to be lifted onto furniture and to use the ramp. He is expected to make a full recovery from his abuse. Because he needs special medical care, we are seeking donations from the public to help. Every little bit helps, so please send what you can. Our website will be updated with mailing address so you can help Andouille, heal.

If you are interested in giving this sweet boy, his forever Colorado home, please go to our website and fill out the online application. Our website is under construction, but the application is functioning.
