This Colorado Sweetheart is a Colorado Dachshund Rescue friend. All of our dogs, are spay and neutered, up to date on vaccines and are heartworm negative and on preventative. We rehome close to 100 Dachshunds each year, and save many of them from certain death at local shelters. By working with local shelters, we are able to give them a second chance to find their new forever homes.

Gus came into a local shelter as a stray and passed the temperament test. He was turned over to rescue because he was severely malnourished and dehydrated. He went immediatly to the vet, for bloodwork and exam. All was normal. His course of treatment, was 3 square meals a day. Gus came into rescue weighing 6 pounds, he is know up to 10 pounds, and feeling great! He LOVES people, this little Gus man is a happy boy, he loves everyone he meets. He is a douple dapple, which is what happens when both mom and dad are dapples. They are often born with deformed eyes, blind or deaf. Gus' blue eye is deformed and small, but he has vision in it. Gus got lucky!
