2nd Chance Dachshund Rescue is an all volunteer organization devoted to education and helping homeless dachshunds get the care and attention they need, and then finding them the perfect forever home. We rescue dachshunds from the local animal shelters here in San Diego County and provide them with any medical care they may require and shower them with love and attention until they are ready to be adopted into a new home. We also accept dachshunds who can no longer stay with their current family and are being relinquished to us.
2nd Chance Dachshund Rescue promotes the spaying and neutering of all pets, and all dachshunds in our rescue program will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Our rescue dachshunds come from shelters, humane societies or are turned in by their previous owners. Many friendly and healthy dachshunds are turned over to rescue regularly for reasons that are no fault of their own such as a family having a baby, an owner passing away or simply that the dog doesn't "fit in" anymore. These are dachshunds that just need help finding their way into the right home for them.
